Visiting Researcher From Uruguay – Dr. Fernando Rivas

On Nov 27, 2014, Dr. Fernando Rivas from Uruguay visited University of Tsukuba to observe latest agriculture technology in Japan. Thank you very much for Kato Sensei from Univ. Tsukuba, Agricultural and Forestry Research Center, to welcome us. We performed flight demonstration to monitor paddy field. Kato Sensei also gave touring to Agriculture and Forestry Research Center. We hope the collaboration between Japan and Uruguay could increase after this meeting.

(Uruguay trivia: person population is 3 million, cattle population is 12 million, so each person has 4 cattle. Most of agriculture products are exported to other countries, for example: About 90% rice production is exported to Brazil, and etc)
